Back to text games, are we?

Way too basic. Try this out: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /236362

Yes, it's old, but it's the exact same kind of game as yours, and it makes you feel like you're really working toward a goal. Seriously, it has nice art and it's very immersive.

Highscores could use some work.

I didn't like how it sent me to another page to post the score and display it. You should work on showing the scores in the game. Also, there should be an instructions page for this.

The music was nice but a little too cheerful for me. The sound effects, well, they aren't special, but I guess they're necessary. I like some of the art, but the animation is pretty basic.

Love the size, oh, wait, it's not really so small.

GameJacket loads an external file, so I can't save the file for offline use. What good is a gadget if you have to load it every time you want to use it? Beyond that, though, Game Jacket loads, then, it loads something else, and then, that loads the actual 'game', why so much loading?

Also, it doesn't teach you how to use the particles for anything, and the settings are a bit unclear. Some directions or pop-up hints would have been nice.

Well GameJacket uses a versioning system where it pulls the latest version down when you run the distributable. The small size makes it more friendly for portal owners bandwith cost. The gadget is designed for online use primarily as the screenshot upload thing wouldnt work without an internet connection.

Pehaps the settings are unclear, ill have a think about how to make it more obvious. However im a firm believer in just playing around with things an seeing what you can do rather than wading through reams of instructions. Who wants to read instructions before they play with thier new toy?

Cheers for the comments!

No highscores.

It's a decent prototype of an arcade shooter, but it needs work on collision and visuals. Can't beat the filesize, though!

Deserves a higher score.

I thought this was amazing for a Flash game. Great work!

Not fun but somewhat unique.

I know a lot of coding was involved, but the graphics were a bit boring, and the physics seemed to be off at times. I liked the thrust, but I still think you should use the mouse click to launch the ship. Perhaps a control scheme change is in order.

This is why I don't play commercial flash games.

The art is nice, but the game is like a Simon without highscores or difficulty. Well, there's difficulty in this, but it stems from the wait until a hand shows up. I was clicking too quickly and got the piggy mad.

Too easy.

I just waved two fingers in front of the webcam and it got me a perfect score. Also, the picture of myself isn't very good. It's probably meant to look like I'm part of the sky, but it just doesn't look good.

Too easy, too turn-based.

The visuals are pretty neat, but this is a game, so I expected more playability. You play it off to be some bad-ass robot carnage, yet it's a sadly easy game to play. It's turn-based, so it's not even fun to mess around.

You could improve the game engine and give us real-time combat, or you could just make the game harder, giving us some strategic value.

Needs more visual effects.

I'm not a fan of the controls, but I can't think of any way to truly improve them, so I'll let that slide.

I think the major downside to this game is the mere repetition. You're stuck on a single screen, clicking random enemies over and over again. To my knowledge, there's no highscore system, either, so lasting a while doesn't wield any kind of reward, just more enemies to kill. Granted, I didn't play for an extremely long time. I just can't find the will to sit and click for more than five or ten minutes. I need some visual stimulation to keep me in my seat.

I enjoy making games and playing them. I enjoyed playing Runescape about seven years ago. It got old and I got better things to do. Beyond that, you only really need to know that I created a bunch of stuff under the alias, Jammer-Lammy. GetLives.com/JAM
